A small and personal contracting company is seeking a SQL Server Administrator to become part of a dynamic team supporting a Department of Defense agency located in Battle Creek, Michigan.

Technical Requirements:

 • Proven experience as a SQL Server DBA is required, 5+ years is desired. The resource must have DBA knowledge beyond “point and click” SQL Server DBA knowledge.

 • Installation & Tuning of SQL Server database software

 • Understanding the SQL Server database, its features and tuning it appropriately in a MS Windows 2003 environment

 • Experience working with very large databases, to include hundreds of millions of rows and thousands of tables

 • Installing and tuning advanced features: Replication and Clustering

 • Disaster Recovery planning and documentation

 • Database Backup and Recovery methods

 • SQL tuning

 • DTS job scheduling

 • .NET (Bonus)

 • Oracle DBA experience (Bonus) Non-technical Requirements

 • Communicate effectively with peers, management and non-technical clients

 • Able to work in a team environment

 • Able to be on-call during off-hours, carry a cell-phone

 • US Citizen and must qualify for the necessary ADP-II Security Clearance

 • This position requires the ability to communicate effectively. The resource will be responsible for attending imperative meetings regarding current ***ignments and projects, so having the ability to discuss technical issues in detail and with clarity is required.

This job requires a bachelor's degree and 5 years of experience.
